Right from the opening tip, in a stretch worthy of a video game, Jokic poured in 25 of Denver’s 39 first-quarter points, almost like he was testing how fast he could dismantle a defense. By halftime, he was already putting up numbers most players only see on easy mode.
The Serbian star finished with 55 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists, coming close to another triple-double without much effort. Charles Barkley, watching the whole thing unfold, could only say what we were all thinking: “We just take Nikola Jokic for granted; he’s the best player in the world.”
